Pacific Northwest Ballet
When Pacific Northwest Ballet announced the retirement of artistic directors Kent Stowell and Francia Russell, everyone knew it would take a VERY special effort to honor them. Their retirement represented the culmination of nearly three decades of vision and leadership that brought the company from an attic in Wallingford to its home in Marion Oliver McCaw Hall, and to its standing as one of the top ballet companies in the world. PNB wanted to create an unforgettable Gala and asked us to help.
Gigantic Planet collaborated with PNB and Oregon Ballet Theater artistic director Christopher Stowell to develop the story and shape the evening's overall program. Through a series of short films and multimedia integrated with specially curated performances, we highlighted the creative collaborations, lasting partnerships, and significant moments that told the story of the impact and legacy Stowell and Russell built throughout their twenty-eight-year tenure as Artistic Directors of PNB.
